I've driven many buses, and the Volvo 8900 Electric stands out mainly for its advanced design and electric capabilities. I had the chance to try its shorter 12.3-meter version. First off, the seating layout with 43 seats is comfortable for passengers, though I felt the overall assembly weight at 20.6 tons slightly noticeable during maneuvering. The electric motor provides smooth performance, but I wish the charging port placement options were more universal. Overall, it has potential.

The single 200 kW or twin 400 kW options matter a lot for route choice - I'd pick the twin on hilly legs. Battery blocks are heavy (535 kg each) and that worries me a bit for axle loads and long-term wear; Volvo didn't give range numbers so I remain cautious. Overall, good layout and passenger space, but some questions on battery weight and service logistics.
